This application, which is parent to applications requiring authentication, enables its child applications to access the authentication backend (TimesTen, RADIUS or Oracle Internet Directory) by means of native Enterprise JavaBeans (EJBs). The Subscriber Data Services application provides the infrastructure for authentication and authorization. In OCMS, both SIP and HTTP applications can be configured to authenticate against the TimesTen In-Memory Database that stores users, user roles, and user data, a RADIUS authentication system, or the Oracle Internet Directory (OID). OCMS implements both basic (HTTP) authentication and digest authentication as described in RFCs 32.
